 We are a foster home based rescue and have no facility to visit.
 Prior to adoption, our animals are spay/neutered, vaccinated including rabies/age appropriate, microchipped and parasite treated/prevented as a minimum.

Attention....this dog is located in Yakima, WA and is a courtesy post for Lifesavers Rescue. This is not a Collar of Hope foster dog. This kind, gentle and SHORT dog is NEEKO. He looks to be a mix of Spaniel, Jack Russell and Dachshund and is 13-14" tall. He has the Spaniel head and ears, the Dachshund body and maybe some Jack Russell bulk thrown in there also as his sister looked a lot more like a Doxie/Jack Russell. Some people who have seen NEEKO thinks he looks like a miniature Yellow (white) Lab :o) So there you go...NEEKO is just a unique little tank pup.. NEEKO is about 8 months old and is 10" tall and weighs about 25#. He is probably full grown. He is a dog who stays very clean. NEEKO has been raised in a home with a lot of other dogs but no small children and due to his personality from past abuse, I don't think children in the home would be good. This is a dog that would be the perfect companion for a couple or a single man or a retired male who would like a walking partner. Due to some abuse in his past and he is very leery of new people. He needs a patient, kind owner to work with him and bring him out of his fear. He is doing better while being here but still lacks self confidence. This is SO typical in abused dogs. At first he didn't even want to go outside and now runs in and out the pet door all the time and is becoming more accepting of new people. NEEKO will cringe at loud voices around him or people coming at him quickly. My heart just goes out to this gentle dog. He does not do submissive peeing, which is nice. His favorite playmates are very young puppies who crawl on him, chew on his lips and ears and curl up and sleep with him. NEEKO would do well in a home where someone would take him for daily walks...after all he is still a puppy and will have energy to burn. It doesn't take long for these type of dogs with abusive history to come around. They don't live in the past. PLEASE think about what a gentle and kind companion NEEKO could be for you. A fenced yard is mandatory for his protection. NEEKO has been neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. There is a $125 adoption donation for NEEKO.
