About Koda

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
Attention....this dog is not a Collar of Hope dog and is located in Yakima, WA This very handsome young dog is KODA. He is a purebred fawn colored Boxer. KODA is about 8 months of age. He is 20" tall at this time and will probably grow another inch or two. He will also be putting on more muscle mass as he matures. He will be on the small size as an adult Boxer. KODA was an inside, family dog from the age of 6 weeks until a couple of months ago and was then forced to stay outside at the end of a rope tied to a stake in the ground. He was quite thin when he came into rescue but looks great now. KODA is pure delight. I fell in love with him immediately. He sleeps at night in a crate in our bedroom....so he can be close. He plays with all the other dogs at our home and is very gentle soul. I have seen no aggression in him with dogs food or humans. He was raised in a home with 4 children. He loves being up on the furniture and says no more cold ground for him. He is good in the car for drives and he is a great age to attend dog obedience classes to learn all his gentleman manners and what is expected of him. This dog is the age and breed that will need daily exercise. KODA, being a Boxer is a highly active, on the go boy. He hasn't had much training and needs a committed owner to take him to obedience classes, try to walk or jog with him daily, and will continue with obedience. Boxers can be hard headed and more difficult to train that some other breeds and they are slow to mature. But once you get then to know what is expected of them and they settle down and know the 'rules', they are one of the best breeds to have as a family companion. Because he was so isolated for several months during his puppy time, he is still such a goofball and acts somewhat younger than his 8-9 months of age. There must be someone home at least part of the day in the home. It wouldn't work for him to be placed in a home where the adults are gone 9 hours a day all work week. Please understand this. KODA has been neutered, micro-chipped and current with vaccines and de-worming. A fenced yard is MANDATORY! There is a $200 adoption donation for KODA.
