About Kayla

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
We are a foster home based rescue and have no facility to visit, therefore we require our adoption application be emailed in and approved before we can set up a meet with the dog. Our home page has information about our rescue and adoption process www.collarofhope.petfinder.com Kayla is some sort of sight hound mix but we're not sure which one. She is bigger than a whippet and smaller than a greyhound. We also are not able to determine what she's mixed with. The shelter called her a Labrador and Great Dane mix but it's pretty obvious she isn't a Great Dane but may be part Labrador.. She weighs in the 60's and is slim built. She also can run like the wind! She does well with other dogs and is just a love. We have not cat tested her but most sight hounds won't do well with cats in the home. But Then she sticks pretty close when off leash in the yard so she may be ok with them, we just don't know yet. She was turned into the shelter by her Mom after her Dad was beating her badly and she was also extremely thin, even for a sight hound. She has a couple of gnarly scars on her head. She is therefore more comfy with women and it takes her a few to be comfy with men until she knows they mean no harm to her. She isn't aggressive with them, she cowers. She would do best, at least initially, with another dog in the home or someone around to hang out with. She loves being with people or other dogs. She is housetrained, about 10 months old, easy to train and a love. She would do best in a home with a large or good sized fenced yard so she can open up and run safely. If you have it in your heart to offer Kayla a permanent, committed home, please apply for her. She's had 2 homes already than we know of and it's time for her to know security! This dog is spayed, vaccinated including rabies, and parasite treated/prevented as a minimum. Adoption fee is $200 Follow either link to complete an application. http://jotform.us/form/31031233439140 http://sdrv.ms/10QFijo
