Fancy is an easy going, gentle, and smart family dog. Her gentle, emotionally intelligent nature and desire to please lends well to positive reinforcement. Despite everything that she has been through, she loves deeply and cares for her humans. She is great with children of all ages and doesn't try to jump up on or overwhelm my 3 year old. While she prefers to be with her people, she is not in your face about it and will follow you around the house but also find a comfortable spot to lay down a few feet away.
Belly scratches and ear scratches are her favorite, and she will return the favor by grooming you gently and showing her adoration (cobbing) while kicking her back leg!
She is good with other dogs and would do well with a friend. She enjoys going for walks and is pretty good about not pulling on the leash, though sometimes she still gets a little too excited to remember manners. She LOVES stuffed animal toys! A game of chase with other dogs, fetch with her people, or exploring in the water are her favorite play time activities.
She respects boundaries, won't try to steal your food, doesn't lick, almost never barks. Zero signs of resource guarding or aggression.
She sleeps through the night and is mostly potty trained, though there are still a few accidents on occasion. The progress she has made in a few short weeks is tremendous though! Crate training in progress. She is still getting used to clipping, nail trimming, bathing, hair drying. While it isn't her preferred activity, she holds still for it and is patient. She likes being brushed!
Likely because of her prior space confinement, stores, small sheds and cars make her uneasy at times, but she is coming out of her shell and she will be a pro in time. She is perfectly at ease walking at the beach or walking around town.
This girl came to us with several others from a breeder. The breeder did not take care of them properly and she had way too many. The one thing they all had going for them from the beginning is they're sweet and social . They had no vetting, grooming and all were very underweight due to food deprivation. Therefore, they are all behind the curve for what they should know at their current ages but all are coming along nicely.
Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.
