Ethel, oh Ethel. She came from a high kill shelter in ruff shape. Her fur, skin and eyes were a mess from life long neglect. She likely lived outside as a baby maker and was cut loose when she was no longer profitable for them. She has dry eye and will be on dry eye meds for the rest of her life. Her teeth are ground to the gum and that's what teeth she has left. The granuloma's on her legs are going away with GOOD quality food (raw diet) and good skin care. She can hang out in a crate for short periods of time and will start barking her cute little head off when she's over it and wants to be out. She will soil in her crate still if left in there too long (for her taste). As long as you can watch her to get her outside, she'll go outside but if you don't watch her, she's bound to soil by a door. She's friendly with all humans, especially the one that wants her to be their lap warmer. She's the best snuggler. She's fine with other dogs and even the cats in her foster home.
We had her nasal passage opened up during her surgery too.
If you know this breed, can keep her eyes healthy, can feed her a proper raw diet and you can offer her a committed, loving and patient home, maybe she's the new girl for you?
