Belinha was dumped in a high kill shelter the day before she delivered 10 puppies in that shelter. No one stepped up for this big family for over a week until we did. We've had Belinha and her crew since the babies were just about 2 weeks old. She was a great mother to her big family. She's been great with everyone she meets and other animals too. She's quiet unless someone is walking their dog by the fence and that's the only time we've heard her bark. Her bark can be very intimidating but
It appears she probably existed in a back yard and that's never going to be her life again. She is getting the hang of living inside a house but we wouldn't call her 100% housetrained quite yet. Overall, she's such a dream temperament wise and just needs a training and acclimation.
Her great points are great and the things she needs work on really need commitment. She is a natural nanny dog and is so gentle and loving with kids. She's allowed a cat to beat her up and did not react back. She is great with other dogs.
She can break out of crates and will then sometimes soil in the home if left too long alone. She can also escape shorter fences. For her own safety, she needs a secure 6 foot fenced yard and never be kept outside.
She's a great girl who is still quite young and deserves a chance at a committed home.
