They call me Hanson. I'm barely 2 years old and a friendly, happy, social boy! I like to play with doggie friends. I don't hurt cats but can't help myself from chasing them on occasion. My ideal home will have someone around more often than those that have to work full time. I realize people need to work, but I need more social interaction and potty breaks. Crating me is not my favorite thing but I've proven to have pretty good house manners.
My former owners...they never took me to the dog doctor after I hurt my leg and it got infected. It was bad. It was so bad that my foot rotted off. I know that's icky, but that was my life and there was nothing I could do about it.
It got kind of worse for me. I was removed from that family and put in the shelter for a long time, since last August. They gave me antibiotics, which helped a little, but that was all. I waited so, so long.... There was court stuff going on and it meant I had to stay in the shelter even longer.
Collar of Hope scooped me out of there once the court thing was over and got me the care I needed. The vet amputated my leg, which was all they could do at that point. It's OK though--I feel so much better! The best part is that I still have 3 great legs and missing one isn't slowing me down at all! You should see me jump up on the sofa and run with ease! I'm back, baby! I'm basically a party on 3 legs
I'm handsome and ready to find a family that won't abandon me when I'm sick. Will it be you?
